Artist’s Statement
“The Six of Wands depicts a figure wearing a victory wreath around her head, riding a white goat (traditionally a white horse representing purity and strength). The carousel pole her horse is on (the wand) also has a wreath, emphasizing her accomplishment. She is happy to show her achievements and the happiness they bring her – she has employed all her talents and abilities to succeed and wants people to recognize this.
This card gives encouragement to believe in who you are and what you have achieved.”
Card Meaning
A beautiful woman is riding a white goat on the carousel – her white steed representing purity and power. She wears a laurel wreath on her head, another hand on the carousel above her, in recognition of her achievements, and bringing them to the attention of the crowd. Her posture suggests that she is “playing to the crowd”, basking in the admiration of spectators cheering her on, but in a genuine way, rather than gloating. The carousel lights twinkle around her, adding clarity and energy, making her shine all the brighter.
This card is the proverbial pat on the back – bringing your moment to shine, to be appreciated for your abilities and success, the public acknowledgement of your worth that motivates you to give your all and allows you to return to the task, refreshed and renewed.
