Featured Card of the Day – 4 of Cups – 78 Tarot Astral ~ Tarot in Space

Artist:  Sue Rundle-Hughes

Website:  http://www.suerundlehughes.com

Keywords

Distracted, apathy, introspection

Artist Interpretation

The Four of Cups shows a figure sitting under an amethyst tree, with crossed legs and arms in a defensive manner, as if she is blocking herself physically and emotionally from the outside world, represented by the three cups in front of her.

She seems meditative and introspective. Perhaps she is dwelling on disappointments in life or maybe she is bored and dissatisfied and is longing for change. If she only looked up she would see the little alien offering her a fourth cup, meaning a new, exciting opportunity is presenting itself, but she doesn’t see it, or chooses to ignore it, and continues to be self-absorbed and contemplative. She needs to wake up and lift her head and take a good look around her or she will miss the new opportunity. The Four of cups suggests we need to be open to new experiences and feel blessed with what we already have in our lives.

Card Meaning

Apathy has taken hold, and with it, all your motivation has disappeared. Are you missing out on chances while you sink further into the abyss? When this card appears in a reading, it’s a gentle, caring nudge to shake you out of it. You’re in danger of withdrawing too much into yourself, of focusing only on your own feelings and opinions, and getting into an unhealthy emotional spiral. So this card arrives to restore balance. Introspection in itself is not bad, it can be very positive and grounding. But there can be too much of a good thing.

Take some time by yourself, for reflection and contemplation. To restore balance to your emotions and spirit, and decide what you want to do, the path you want to take. Then shake yourself free, ready to act, energized and enthused!
