There is a shift which takes place here, almost setting aside the more intellectual part of Mercury, in favor of paying attention to intuition. Heightened intuition can be a good thing, so long as you are able to distinguish it from things such as wishful thinking.  Mercury is more sensitive now, and emotions tend to run higher, and this presence can be felt through both thought and communication. Cancer concerns itself with security, most specifically around home and family. Themes of nurturing in these areas can be felt at this time. This particular transit includes a Mercury retrograde. The pre-shadow phase begins June 12th, and the retrograde station on June 29th. Mercury resumes direct motion on July 23rd, and the post-shadow concludes August 6th.
