Card of the Day – King of Pentacles – Tuesday, June 18, 2019

Posted on Updated on

Guided by today’s Capricorn Moon, allow this very earthy King to show you how to get things done. His superpower is manifestation and he goes about his business in a grounded, practical manner. Use him to help you in matters pertaining to finance, as well as those which concern the well-being of loved ones through provided comforts.

He would have been a great card for Father’s Day just passed, as he embodies the nurturing, kind-hearted essence of the father, who, whether rich or poor, provides for those for whom he cares. However, he does not require just one day a year; his endearing qualities are welcome at any time.

See you here tomorrow!

Featured Card of the Day – Death – Crow Tarot by M.J. Cullinane

Posted on Updated on

Artist: M.J. Cullinane

Website: http://www.enchanteddecks.com

Card Meaning

The Crow has let go and has made her peace with the change that must take place for her life to move forward in a positive direction. Her death is symbolic of transformation and comes with a warning that unless you are willing to allow the part of you to die that is holding you back, the pain or discomfort you feel in the future will be genuine. This card marks a profound change is coming, one that is of course if you can allow the change to happen without fear of the unknown.

Card of the Day – Ace of Swords – Monday, June 17, 2019

Posted on Updated on

Full Moon blessings, everyone! Today is the Full Moon, occurring at 25° Sagittarius, and a glorious Full Moon it is! We are coming off of yesterday’s Neptunian influences and moving toward a conjunction tomorrow which is building between Mercury and Mars. Remember, Mercury is all about thoughts and communication, while Mars is action, energy, aggression, and impetuosity.

So, what does this all mean? It may be possible to find a little more clarity than you may have possessed yesterday. Breakthroughs and great ideas are possible now. On the flip side, there is definitely a caution, especially with a Full Moon in play, to think before you speak. We enter Eclipse Season today, and your words can leave lasting scars, not to mention permanently sever any number of relationships. Your Ace of Swords represents power, power which you wield; you can use it to help you clear your path in the coming weeks, but do so carefully.

See you here tomorrow!

Featured Card of the Day – The Magician – 78 Tarot Mythical

THE CARD’S STORY BY: TANYA BOND

To represent The Magician, I picked a deity from ancient Egypt – Thoth, as he was regarded as the master of magic and possessor of secret knowledge and expert in sciences. I have merged the traditional Rider-Waite Magician symbols with a traditional depiction of Thoth.

THE CARD’S MESSAGE BY TRISH SULLIVAN

Thoth stands, staring into the distance, the symbols of the suits emblazoned on his skin, powerful artifacts in his hand, and an infinity crown resting on his head. Whatever comes his way, he is ready, the power within him to overcome everything. The Magician is here to remind you just how bloody awesome you are. Don’t let fear or worry hold you back. Don’t even let them enter your mind. You have everything you need, all the experience, all the knowledge, all the skill is already within you. Now you need to keep your focus and unlock your confidence. You are the key. You are MORE than enough. You don’t need approval or permission. You can do this.

MYTHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION: THOTH

The God of Magic and Writing, as well as the Moon, Thoth is widely considered to be the wisest god of the Ancient Egyptian pantheon. His wisdom was so legendary that Egyptians believed you could learn all the knowledge of the universe from a book he once wrote – the Book of Thoth, and become the most powerful magician in the process…if you could withstand the pain and tragedy that came with it. He is oft en depicted as a man with the head of either an ibis, or a baboon – both of these animals were sacred to him. Th e extraordinary personal power of Thoth, made him the perfect illustration for our Mythical Magician.

Card of the Day – 2 of Swords – Sunday, June 16, 2019

Posted on Updated on

Decisions can be difficult when conditions are a bit foggy. You will likely find that to be the case today, with so many players joining the party – Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, and especially Neptune, which is about to retrograde on the 21st. Neptune is like a big old fog machine some days, and Jupiter loves to expand things. Mercury provides thought and communication, which may not feel clear enough for a rational decision. Saturn is the proverbial party pooper.

Bottom line for today, if you do not need to make an important decision, put it off for a couple of days – let some of the fog dissipate. However, do not allow yourself to be influenced by hopeful outcomes. Do what matters for you and only you.

See you here tomorrow!

Featured Card of the Day – 8 of Cups – 78 Tarot Mythical

THE CARD’S STORY BY: JAYDE HILLIARD

I decided to illustrate an Iroquois story called Three Brothers Who Followed the Sun, one of the surviving Native American stories which we are fortunate enough to be able to read and listen to today. In the card, you see that the brothers have departed the shores of their home, leaving behind vases (representing the cups) that were molded by the hands of their family. While some versions of this story has the brothers eventually living the rest of their lives contentedly in the spirit world, hunting and never tiring, others do not have such a positive ending and convey that the brothers are killed after returning home from their journey and telling their family about what they saw while they followed the sun.

THE CARD’S MESSAGE BY TRISH SULLIVAN

Three figures, three brothers, sail off into the horizon in a canoe together. Bored of their current life, they are travelling towards the sun, behind them, eight jars lie, cast aside like detritus. Up, up and away! It’s time for you to take your leave, and move onto bigger and better things. Yes, you’ll miss the old ways, but you know this is the right decision for you. It’s far better to take the risk now, to go and be happy, while fondly remembering the past, than stagnate, and end up resenting that you stayed. No matter how safe and familiar your current life, your new one will be better, and deep in your heart, you know it.

MYTHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION: THREE BROTHERS WHO FOLLOWED THE SUN

The Three Brothers Who Followed the Sun is an Iroquois sun myth. There are variations, but the story is told that three brothers, who were unmarried, spent their lives as huntsmen. But as the years passed, they tired of the hunt, and became dissatisfied. One brother suggested that they travel to the edge of the world. Their journey was longer and more complex than they expected, but eventually they got to where the sun dips under the sky’s edge. Two brothers made it, unfortunately the other only in spirit form as the sun came down too fast for him. Leaving their old lives to make positive changes make this legend a perfect one for the card.
