Mercury Retrograde
May 10, 2022 @ 7:47 am - June 3, 2022 @ 4:00 am

Three or four times per year, Mercury retrogrades for a period of three and one-half weeks. Its appearance, as with any other retrograde planet, leads one to believe it is actually moving backward, and life itself often takes on the very same feel. It is possible to need to do things over, not once, but perhaps several times, and miscommunication reigns supreme as well. During this time period, electronic items, things with moving parts (such as your car), and pretty much anything else of which you can think, can become discombobulated. Everything from your coffee pot or regrigerator on the fritz, to losing, or breaking, your phone, is fair territory for this little trickster. Thinking and communication are both unclear at this time, and no matter how well you may think you explained yourself, there is a good chance the other party read what you said the wrong way. People from your past are known to show up during Mercury retrograde, and it is up to you to decide if the relationship was a worthwhile one which deserves a second chance. Each Mercury retrograde is preceded by a pre-shadow phase, leading up to the moment Mercury goes retrograde, and also a post-shadow phase extending beyond the time it goes direct. (In this case, pre-shadow begins April 26, 2022, and post-shadow ends June 18, 2022.) It can be retrograde in more than one sign, as its backward travels often lead it back to the previous sign, and once again, the themes which surround you are likely prefixed with re-, redo, review, rethink, renegotiate, and on and on goes the list of possibilities of issues which Mercury will put before you. Do not begin new projects, or new relationships of any kind, during a Mercury retrograde, for it tends to bring regret of some form later on down the line. This Mercury retrograde will begin in Gemini, then move into Taurus on May 22, where it will go direct on May 3, giving a totally different feel to each part of the retrograde.
