Card of the Day – 3 of Swords – Friday, April 26, 2019

Posted on Updated on

There may be those who seemingly lead such a charmed life, but there is no one who can say that they have not experienced some form of heartbreak or betrayal.  The 3 of Swords is in the top three on most people’s list of feared cards of the Tarot.  It need not be that way.  If you allow yourself to be consumed by it, the pain wins.

This 3 of Swords comes to you today, urging you to release the heartache and hurts of your past, in order to move forward to a brighter, more joyful, future.  Rather than those storm clouds remaining hanging over your head, it is time for them to part, wash away all that is negative, and separate yourself from it.  They simply can not exist together; release the pain, and embrace the positive.

See you here tomorrow!

Card of the Day – 9 of Wands – Wednesday, April 24, 2019

Posted on Updated on

“You will never know strong you are until being strong is your only choice.” I could write an entire post using quotes about strength, resilience, persistence, falling down and getting back up, but I think you get the point. This has been your life up until this point, and, in recent days, we have been talking about the urge to break out, break free, and rise above it all, entering a new life. The 9 of Wands urges you to get up each day and make the most of it, no matter how tired, no matter how difficult, and continually reminds you of all that you are, all that you can be, and all that you have overcome.

If you need some sort of anthem to get you through your day, and to help you get back out there and do it all over again, as you attempt to make your changes, then you need look no further than ‘Eye of the Tiger’. There are a few I favor for this card, but this one pretty much sums it up, showing you that sheer will and drive, persistence, and stamina which at times may be in short supply, will see you through and nothing is bound to keep you down for long.

See you here tomorrow!

Card of the Day – The World – Tuesday, April 23, 2019

Posted on Updated on

Common sense generally dictates that you do not just wake up one day living an entirely new life.  So how do you get one?  The best way to work your path in the direction of the picture in your mind is through integration.  Gradually begin to introduce the new way of  life into the current one, thus allowing time to adjust to the changes.  There is less chance of having things backfire, if you give yourself, and those around you, that cushion for becoming accustomed to a new way of doing things.

It is important to understand that you are in a crucial phase of transition, so in order for your actions to stick and have long-lasting consequences, or benefits, it is necessary to implement new ways of doing things in a manner which is comfortable for you.  Ultimately, the goal should be to have an actual life rather than just existing in the current one.

Featured Card of the Day – The Fool – Crow Tarot by M.J. Cullinane

Posted on Updated on

Artist: M.J. Cullinane

Website: www.enchanteddecks.com

Card Meaning

Unafraid, the crow does not waiver a bit and has faith that the log and river will provide a great adventure. In the distance there is a wind blowing, whistling a warning – but the crow remains faithful knowing that despite how stormy or choppy the waters may become in the future – the log will keep her afloat. The Fool card asks that you have faith in the universe and to live fearlessly. You will come through the storm. If you allow hope to replace fear, imagine the adventures you have waiting.

Card of the Day – Knight of Pentacles – Monday, April 22, 2019

Posted on Updated on

Mr. Reliable…our Knight of Pentacles is pretty much the most predictable, routine card in the deck. Not a bad card for a Monday, he can help you make it to work in a punctual manner, put forth a consistent work product, and never do things in a haphazard fashion. Ok, so maybe he sounds a bit boring, and not very adventurous, but slow and steady wins the race, right?

Today, with the Sun newly in Taurus, and Uranus there for the next seven years, one might think this earthy Knight was the perfect vibe for kicking off your work week. Somehow, there is always a catch, and you have probably been feeling it build over the last couple of days; go back and look at Saturday and Sunday’s cards…the 5 of Wands and the Devil, that struggle to break out and break free of old ways and constraints. Your intentions may be the best for today, striving to be the meticulous, and reliable Knight of Pentacles, but the Universe may have something else in minds. For the first time in decades, the Sun and Uranus, both in Taurus, are meeting up, sparking anything but typical behavior. Your quest for adventure under today’s Sagittarius Moon may be undeniable, as Uranus seeks to light a fire under you and push you out of your comfort zone. Today could hold a few surprises, and things may feel anything but routine. You may cross paths with colorful characters today and wind up ditching routine entirely.

See you here tomorrow!

THE CARD’S STORY BY: MAIGAN LYNN

The first thing that came to mind was to create a witch or a wizard so I decided to go with Morgan le Fay. It is rumored that she apprenticed beneath Merlin, the Wizard. So here, I have depicted her practicing her witchcraft in the forest as a new witch with new magic. In a lot of illustrations you see Morgan le Fay in a dark dress. I purposely went with a grey colour to further express the beginnings of who Morgan le Fay later became. I also purposely chose the winter season as it’s the season before spring, when everything begins to grow. It’s the beginning of something new. I also made sure to include some familiars, the Raven and the Fox, as she was often seen in company of animals with black fur or feathers.

THE CARD’S MESSAGE BY TRISH SULLIVAN

Alone in the forest, Morgan le Fay tests what she has learnt, away from the eyes of her teacher. This is her time to hone her skills, her chance to practice and push herself further, possibly push herself beyond even what Merlin has taught her. Getting the job done doesn’t have to be a chore. It can be a thrill to put your hard earned skills to use and provide for yourself by utilizing your knowledge and experience. To find new ways to achieve what you want, to test and challenge yourself. And to sit back once the tasks are complete, rewarded both in tangible terms, and in the knowledge that you did it ALL for yourself, without depending on anyone else.

MYTHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION: MORGAN LE FAY

Morgan le Fey is a powerful sorceress within Arthurian legend, oft en referred to as the half-sister of Arthur himself. She was the apprentice (and lover) to Merlin, and for all she was Arthur’s sister, she is a villain of the tale – a jealous, spiteful enemy and possibly the greatest adversary Arthur would ever face. She does relent in the end however, and is one of the maidens who takes Arthur to Avalon aft er his death. Given that she was a talented witch, constantly attempting to build on her power, and that much of her reputation appears to have resulted from her femininity, we felt she was an ideal representation of this card.
