Featured Card of the Day – The Devil – Lightseer’s Tarot by Chris-Anne Donnelly

Posted on Updated on

Artist: Chris-Anne Donnelly

Key Concepts

Light Seer: addiction, liberation, freedom from vices, healthy v. unhealthy sexuality, obsessing about vs. enjoying the material world, the healing found in darkness, delving into your shadow self

Shadow Seer: bondage, addiction, trapped in your own stories, being manipulated by someone, not being honest with yourself, not seeing your own role in a negative circumstance, giving your power away, feeling helpless

Message from the Devil

Oh temptation, sweet temptation. The Devil represents everything in life we are addicted to. The things that can entrap us, or overtake our lives. These addictions can be of the garden variety – alcohol, drugs, sex – or they can ba little more difficult to detect. (Being addicted to how others make you feel, co-dependent relationships, or being addicted to your stories and excuses are examples of his vices that can be a little more nebulous.) This is a nudge to delve into your own shadows. Illuminate the things that hold too much sway over your attention. Those things that are vying for your time, your energy, and your love…and that generally leave you feeling empty? Those are the things. Remember that addictions don’t necessarily look scary and demonic…until they do. Seek liberation from your cords, and from the things that hold you back or keep you down. In dark times, look to fragmented aspects of Self as a source of light, and search for wholeness and self-forgiveness as guides. What disguise does your anchor wear, sweet light?

Featured Card of the Day – 7 of Cups – Lightseer’s Tarot by Chris-Anne Donnelly

Posted on Updated on

Artist: Chris-Anne Donnelly

Key Concepts

Light Seer: choices, opportunities and options, a counsel against fantasies and illusions, wishful thinking, the allure of temptation on the path, needing to decide without having the full picture

Shadow Seer: feeling blocked by indecision, fear of making the wrong choice, the distraction of all things shiny and new, feeling overwhelmed by choices

Message from the 7 of Cups

When you daydream your way into the future, the options that you have in front of you, right now, can feel overwhelming. The straight path from A to Z is often nebulous, and life can present itself like a game of snakes and ladders that will bring you down only to life you up. Your desire to choose the correct path – the perfect path – can make things feel overly muddled and confusing, because the allure of shiny things is often illusory. There is, unfortunately, no way to foresee everything that will unfold! You must use your intuition to decide. Remember that gifts and riches can hold promises that are shallow and empty, while difficult paths can often hold beautiful opportunities for growth and wisdom. Rather than being caught up in the temptation of the fast and the easy, use a discerning heart and allow what you really want to inform your next steps. Beyond the illusions and the facades, and any worries that you have about choosing the wrong thing (you won’t!) what options honestly stand in front of you today? Even though things are not always what they seem to be, you can meditate on your best choice, and use it as a stepping stone to an ever-expanding future.

Featured Card of the Day – Knight of Swords – Lightseer’s Tarot by Chris-Anne Donnelly

Posted on Updated on

Artist: Chris-Anne Donnelly

Key Concepts

Light Seer: fast action and streamlined decision making, intelligence, with, determination, striving for excellence, being autonomous, willpower

Shadow Seer: unfocused and scattered energy, impatience, acting too quickly, the need for a logical solution, feeling held back by frustrating circumstances, stalling, impatience, being hard-edged and emotionally unavailable

Message from the Knight of Swords

On purpose, and on-time…this Knight charges into your reading with some badass energy worth leaning into. There’s a competitive resoluteness and decisiveness here, and you can open up this strategic momentum and rush towards your positive outcome when this Knight shows up!

How much belief and assertiveness are you bringing into your life right now? How much innate drive do you feel? Are you determined to accomplish everything you set out to do, or are you letting things slide? Use quick-thinking and strategic decision making to your advantage. Streamline your time right now, and find the confidence to leap towards that thing you desire. The motion you gather will change everything for the better. Above all, strive for excellence and singular focus, every single day in order to bring more of this conquering, powerful magic into your life. As with all powerful energies, you may run the risk of being overly forceful or domineering. Be careful not to hurt others with your impatience to win. If you are feeling scattered or distracted, or if your success feels blocked, spend time organizing your thoughts, and make sure that all of your energy is moving in the same direction.
