4 of Cups

Card of the Day – 4 of Cups – Wednesday, December 4, 2019

Posted on Updated on

It is customary every once in a while that you should become bored (insert BIG yawn) with the drudgery of the same old, same old.  Here it is Hump Day, and while there is this positive vibe lingering in the air, you may be looking around and saying to yourself that not much has really changed and you can not understand what all the fuss is about over December.  Fear not, dear one, you are only getting started.

The 4 of Cups tends to bring up a review of all of these things, especially should you find yourself tiring of them.  Do they have a continued place in your life?  Do you need to find some new adventure to stir up some excitement?  This is a good time to consider that which you can not see yourself considering.  The Universe has something on offer, and it may not be what you have had your heart set on, so you may be brushing it aside in favor of what you think you want.  Go ahead, let it into your world and give it a try.  At this point, you only know what you do not want.  But, you can not truly say that something new is not for you unless you have actually given it a go-round.  To hear my Tarot Card of the day at the earliest possible time, download the free PodBean app from your App Store and follow me there, or follow me on your favorite podcast platform.

See you here tomorrow!

Card Meaning: Are you capable of seeing let alone deciding if an opportunity that is presenting itself to you may help or provide the solution to a problem? When you connect with your higher-self and straddle that space between the material and the spiritual world, only then will you understand the value contained within the cup.

Card of the Day – 4 of Cups – Friday, October 18, 2019

Posted on Updated on

At the beginning of the audio included below, I reference the Rolling Stones classic, ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’.  That is our story for today, and if you try sometimes, you just might find, you get what you need.  Here again, the Universe is up to something.  Perhaps you are in disdain over the current status of your life.  The same old, same old, a/k/a, the status quo, is simply not cutting it in some way for most of you.  However, you may be ignoring what the Universe is offering.

The 4 of Cups refers to assessment, meditation, reflection, contemplation, and even apathy.  It is very easy to see how it can apply here for you.  You may find it all too easy to overlook something which would be beneficial to you.  Think of yourself as a kid in a candy store, hellbent on having the sweet treat which has caught your eye.  This can render you totally oblivious to the wondrous selection available to you in the candy case.  It is often necessary with the 4 of Cups to not become so focused on how you think things should be, and allow yourself to be open to the possibilities which the Universe is trying to present to you.  You never know, if you try sometimes, you just might find, you get what you need.

See you here tomorrow!

Card of the Day – 4 of Cups – Monday, July 22, 2019

Posted on Updated on

If only Mondays did not feel like such a Monday!  The same old, same old, may be haunting you today, as the Universe smacks you in the face and says “Hey, you are in a rut”!  And on this Mondayest of Mondays, this feeling may not be sitting too well with you.  Chances are you have been tired of the status quo, and, thus far, have felt powerless to change it, or, at the very least, that your attempts to do so seemed to just crash and burn.

Today kicks off a week where the fire energy that drives your passions is building.  The Sun moves home to Leo today, and the Moon is in Aries, which I feel is the real culprit here, stoking your desires for change.  The 4 of Cups is a card of review, contemplation, and even meditation, asking that you assess your options, look over what no longer suits you, and to not ignore what is available to you that you may not feel is in alignment with your goals.  An offer which you do not find appealing may be exactly what the Universe ordered.  Give it a second look; no need to commit just yet, but do not ignore it completely.

See you here tomorrow!

Featured Card of the Day – 4 of Cups – 78 Tarot Mythical

THE CARD’S STORY BY: REGAN KUBECEK

I found the card spoke to me of disconnect and removing one’s self from opportunity and possibility. I saw a solitary figure, deep in thought and lost in their own space and familiar surroundings. But not looking beyond. They seemed to be focused intently on inward concerns and struggles. Becoming caught up in routine and dissatisfied with their lot. All these are essentially true of the four of cups. Yet looking deeper the message is not so black and white, it is not all about being stubborn or self-absorbed. It is also about reflection and taking time to reevaluate your situation. To take the time to see all the other things on offer, to be mindful and yes careful. But to also look beyond yourself and consider so much more.

THE CARD’S MESSAGE BY TRISH SULLIVAN

The Selkie sits amongst the waves and sea shells as the water crashes against the distant shore. She cannot focus, she is distracted and dissatisfied, searching for happiness within. You’re in danger of withdrawing too much into yourself – introspection can be very positive and grounding, but there can be too much of a good thing! Yes, you need to look inward & work things out, ignoring unnecessary distractions, but don’t lose sight of what’s right in front of you. Take some time by yourself, for reflection, to rebalance and reconnect to your emotions and spirit, and decide what you want to do. Then shake yourself free, ready to act, energized and enthused!

MYTHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION: SELKIE

Legends of the Selkie come originally from Scotland, but go as far afi eld as the Faroe Islands. Te Selkie were believed to be beautiful men and women who lived as seals when in the sea. Should they come ashore they could remove their skin and walk as humans on the land. It was said that if a female Selkie’s skin was stolen, then she would be forced to live as the wife of the man who had taken it. These stories usually have a tragic ending, with the woman finding her skin and returning to the seas and leaving loved ones behind, or being trapped on land, forever longing for a home to which they can never return. The constant seeking happiness of a land-bound Selkie represents a fi tting parallel to this card.

Card of the Day – 4 of Cups – Thursday, March 4, 2019

Posted on Updated on

This card is so very well timed today, for this current Mercury Retrograde, which began at 29° Pisces (the end of the end – the last degree of the last sign), has been pushing you to review the things in your life that need repair, or elimination, so as to enter the next part of your journey as a truly fresh start.  The 4 of Cups is a card of assessment, different than the assessment associated with the 7 of Pentacles, whereas, here you have likely grown weary with the status quo, and need to look things over to decide what you like, and what you do not.

Even if you do seize the opportunity to review some things today, dependent upon your time zone, you may be faced with a void-of-course Gemini Moon, occupying your daylight hours.  Do not make any decisions of importance, unless you are pressured as a matter of timing.  If you are lucky enough to have the day to yourself, utilize this card and the void-of-course Moon, to grab some snacks and kick back with some Netflix or Amazon Prime.  Conditions for clearer communication and commitment will exist several hours beyond the end of the Gemini Moon, when the Sun will conjunct Mercury (cazimi), offering up a reprieve from this difficult Mercury Retrograde.

See you here tomorrow!

Featured Card of the Day – 4 of Cups – Crow Tarot by M.J. Cullinane

Posted on Updated on

Artist: M.J. Cullinane

Website: www.enchanteddecks.com

Card Meaning

The crow in the tree pays no attention to the cup in the sky, nor has any interest in discovering the contents of the cups below. He sits detached from his community, unmotivated to do much of anything, and is bored by yet another shiny object. The Four of Cups speaks to a time of depression and the inability to find anything to be excited about. You may be in a time of self-imposed darkness whether it is from a disappointment or bad relationship. The Four of Cups asks that you go inward and look for what brought you to this place of discontentment. It also may be a good time to take stock of all the things that have been going well, as that is the quickest way to ease out of a funk.
