Message from the Hierophant
As you search for your divine truth, you create frameworks of understanding that help you to expand your consciousness and that ground your faith into your reality. Your own spiritual beliefs should support you at this time, and if they don’t, you are being asked to activate a deepening of your faith in order to find the guidance that you seek. When the Hierophant shows up in a reading he is asking you to grow, and to hold more light within your being than you ever have in the past. If you’ve been stuck in an old system or a structured way of acting or being, it is time to let that fall away in order to make space for a better version of you. Be open to new paradigms, perspectives, mentors, or teachers, coming into your life at this time. The Hierophant serves as a living portal, and he may show up in a variety of lessons or circumstances. Look to the repeating patterns around you, and strive to understand your own internal compass. Know that while there is wisdom and veracity in the teachings of the mystics, the voice of your own heart is the one voice that really matters the most. It’s time to find the wisdom of the heavens, within.

Card of the Day – The Hierophant – Monday, August 19, 2019
Playing by the rules can conjure up all type of sayings, including “nice guys finish last”, but in the case of today’s Hierophant, it can prove to work in your favor to be more thorough. The Hierophant is that higher authority, the status quo, the teacher, the rule maker, but your spiritual beliefs are also mixed in here.
Today there is a semi-sextile between Jupiter in Sagittarius and Saturn in Capricorn, both in their dignity. So, we have the planet of expansion (giver of gifts and good luck) and the planet of restriction (also known as the taskmaster), telling you that the manifestation of your end game needs to be achieved through hard work and long-term goals. So, in this instance, playing by the rules and coloring inside the lines can be to your advantage. Use the Hierophant to conduct the proper research necessary to complete your mission in a successful manner. The impetuous Aries Moon may perhaps be urging you to just jump right in, but taking a more cautious approach will work to your benefit.

THE CARD’S STORY BY: SELINA FENECH
The Hierophant is sometimes known as Chiron, a centaur from Greek myth known for his wisdom and medical knowledge. For this mythology themed Tarot, it seemed perfect to represent the Hierophant as a centaur. In most other ways I kept the symbols and imagery of this card traditional – he is in a temple-like setting, with religious vestments, three-tiered crown and raised right hand. He holds the triple sceptre as a symbol of his power and has initiates kneeling before him. By making the Hierophant a physically attractive figure, I challenge his power by making him the “eye candy” that women are often shown as, and further criticize patriarchal roles with the two faceless, old white men as mindless followers.
THE CARD’S MESSAGE BY TRISH SULLIVAN
The Hierophant stands as teacher and guide, bathed in light, between pillars of Law and Freedom. His triple sceptre and crown symbolize authority and dominion over many worlds. His students kneel before him, eager to be initiated into the wisdom he provides. Even if you’re sorely tempted to rebel and take a different path, the Hierophant is here to strongly suggest you re-think. There are times for independent, daring action, times to make a splash and buck the trend, but this is not one of them. At this stage in your life, you will achieve more by playing by the rules and paying attention to detail. By listening to the advice of others, you can attain your goals in a more traditional way.
MYTHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION: CHIRON
Chiron was possibly the most famous centaur of Greek mythology – whereas many of these creatures were savage warriors, he was renowned for his wisdom. Raised by Apollo and Artemis, he was civilised and intelligent, a medical expert, known for a willingness to nurture the young, acting as a tutor to many future Greek heroes including Ajax, Aeneas, Achilles, Jason, Perseus and Telamon. Given the role of Chiron as a respected teacher within Greek legends, we felt that he was an ideal depiction of our Mythical Hierophant.

Card of the Day – The Hierophant – Thursday, June 27, 2019
To understand what today is all about, one would first have to look at a typical Hierophant appearance. Tradition and spiritual beliefs are high on the list, together with established groups such as church, school, and government. This card represents the status quo and all of those rules and regulations to which you are routinely subjected by society. Teaching and learning can be involved as well. This is a tried-and-true energy, suggesting that orthodox methods are the best.
And, then there is today. Among the aspects occurring, there will be a sextile between the Sun and Uranus. This hardly gives the feel of the above-referenced meanings for this card; actually it is quite the opposite. This is an anything-but-typical vibe, allowing you to step outside the lines and try something new. It can actually lead to wonderful things; entertain the thoughts, feelings, and ideas that come your way today, and embrace the opportunity to interact with quirky individuals with whose path you may cross.

Card of the Day – The Hierophant – Sunday, May 26, 2019
This is always a great Sunday card; it represents your spiritual beliefs. The Hierophant includes religion, churches, and even the hierarchy, especially in the context of conformity.
What I like more about the Hierophant card for today is its representation of the status quo in relation to where you are on your journey. Things are not going to change in your life unless you choose to change them. Doing, not hoping and dreaming, are what will make things different. Remember, if you keep on doing what you are doing, you will Moon getting what you are getting. Dare to challenge the same old, same old and create a new reality for yourself.

The Hierophant crow is pragmatic and does not take unnecessary risks. This crow appears at a time when a conventional approach is needed to resolve a situation or help further a project. Card of the Day – The Hierophant – Monday, April 29, 2019
Happy Monday! If ever a Monday could feel more like a Monday than other Mondays, this might be the one. Chances are you simply do not even want to adult today, but truth is, you have no choice. The Moon is in passive Pisces, and tends to make one more prone to daydreaming, obviously not the way to begin your week, with so much riding on the line. Life is full of rules and regulations by which we must all abide, and, let’s face it, someone has to pay the bills.
The Hierophant is so much about seeing to it that things are carried out according to established societal ways…in other words, the status quo. Something tells me this does not sit well with you today, but you are in no position to be off on a grand adventure. Give this energy until Wednesday, at which time the Moon will enter Aries and you will be ready to seize the day. In the meantime, look for the teachable moments which this day provides and do what is expected of you.

Card of the Day – The Hierophant – Saturday, February 23, 2019
Since we last saw this card, there have been more news stories involving the Pope. This will continue as the Church deals with centuries-old practices which have come to light. The same goes for the hierarchy of government and we will see more on that as well. The Hierophant represents the establishment, the status quo, our spiritual beliefs, and often even our rebellion against the rules to which we must conform.
This is a card where you can be teacher or student, or even both. No matter your path in life, you always have wisdom to offer another, and there are s always room for you to learn more.

Card of the Day – The Hierophant – Wednesday, January 30, 2019
Your spiritual beliefs are highlighted today, not only by the Hierophant card itself, but thanks to the Sagittarius Moon, Jupiter in Sagittarius, and a sextile building toward tomorrow between Saturn and Neptune. Saturn demands hard work and Neptune is all about your hopes and dreams, and the optimism provided to you today should help carry you far in your quest for your true desires.
And what of your beliefs? Sagittarius allows you to see the bigger picture, perhaps expand on your spiritual horizons. This card is very much about those spiritual beliefs, and it is even possible under the Aquarian influence of the Sun and Mercury, that you are considering new affiliations which resonate deeply with your soul.
In the more worldly scope of things, this card represents teaching and learning, very much a Sagittarian thing, and, it could be as simple as hearing of massive school closings in the Northern Hemisphere due to extreme weather conditions. The possibility of seeing church-related events in the news is also something to look for today.
