Queen of Swords

Card of the Day – Queen of Swords – Thursday, November 7, 2019

Posted on Updated on

It would seem our Mama Bear, a/k/a, the Queen of Swords is kicking butt in a good way today.  Typically, we see her show up right around the New Moon, occasionally a Full Moon, but then she represents the crankiness that we often see in ourselves and others during those times.  Not today; she is all about clearing her path so that she can move forward, with enough room for Baby Bear to be by her side.

In her most positive light, the Queen of Swords possesses the clarity, the focus, the determination, and the organization, to fulfill her agenda.  There has been a turning point which occurred in the last couple of days, and it may perhaps even be fueling today’s actions.  There is a semi-square today, between Venus and Mars, this is the only thing which could cause any flare-ups of anger, otherwise I feel today’s Aries Moon will help to give you the drive necessary to carry out your To-Do List in true Queen of Swords fashion.  If you would like to listen to my November Love and Finance for FREE, or gain earlier access to the audio for my Tarot Card of the Day, download the free PodBean app from your AppStore, or follow me on your favorite podcast platform.

Card of the Day – Queen of Swords (Voices) – Thursday, October 31, 2019

Posted on Updated on

Happy Halloween!  Our Queen of Swords is a few days late, considering she faithfully makes an appearance very close to, if not on, a New Moon.  Today, she is appropriately labeled the Queen of Voices, so let us count the ways.  This is a very mental card in the sense that it reflects thought, and communication even; where normally I would consider this Queen to be the epitome of organization and truthful words, her timing may reflect anything but.  Mercury begins its third and final retrograde at 27° of the intense sign of Scorpio.  It does not go direct until November 20, and it will remain in Scorpio the entire time.  Next up, the Sagittarius Moon will be void-of-course for pretty much the entirety of your day.  And lastly, there is a semi-square between the Sun and Jupiter today.  Truthfully, it can go either way, and considering the odds, with the retrograde and the void, I would not overly indulge in the optimism which this aspect may produce.

So, suffice it to say, our normally organized, all-business Queen, truthful often to the point of it being painful, may see a great deal of her organization going out the window.  All three things which I mentioned above indicate that it is in your best interest to take things slow today; if you can not hide under the covers, then do keep your schedule light.  For goodness sake, do not attempt to hold any important conversations today, the Queen of Swords has a tendency to speak the bare and naked truth, much like the overload of Scorpio dominating your day.  Keep in mind, what you say may very well be misconstrued, and speaking your mind may not produce the desired results.

See you here tomorrow!

Featured Card of the Day – Queen of Swords – Lightseer’s Tarot by Chris-Anne Donnelly

Posted on Updated on

Artist: Chris-Anne Donnelly

Key Concepts

Light Seer: an excellent communicator, an advisor, unbiased decision making, independence, wise and logical counsel, seeking truth, wit, quick-thinking, honesty

Shadow Seer: sharp and sometimes cold communication, striving to use your words wisely, a need to refrain from being ‘mean’ or ’emotional’, indifference, a message to use your head more and your heart less, aloofness

Message from the Queen of Swords

It’s time for direct communication and straightforward interpretations in your situation. This powerful queen asks you to be honest in your relationships, direct in your speech, witty if you wanna be…but above all, bring your clear-headed, unbiased reasoning to the table. Bolster your finely tuned b.s. detector by letting go of how you feel about the situation, and objectively consider the facts. It’s a time to ask your perceptive mind and your loyal heart to evaluate your situation from a higher perspective. What do you know to be true? And where are you filling in the gaps and making it up based on your assumptions? a time for candor, sometimes this communication style can come across as cold or cutting, so if you are having trouble communicating something that is difficult for another person to hear, know that you can always dip your toe into the cup of empathy and compassion to help with your delivery. Sharp analysis and careful consideration are always intelligent moves, as is being able to clearly connect with others in a way that is easily accepted and understood. Your clear heart and clear mind will allow you to speak your truth, always.

Card of the Day – Queen of Swords – Tuesday, July 16, 2019

Posted on Updated on

Full Moon blessings, everyone! Today we will have a Full Moon Partial Lunar Eclipse at 24° Capricorn and it is a doozie. Look who showed up right at the Full Moon! Are you surprised? I would imagine not at this point. It seems as though, the more difficult the Moon, the closer you find the Queen of Swords.

She has her sword at the ready today, mostly to sever ties with anyone or anything that does not suit her. The mean, vindictive, criticizing side of this Queen is showing itself now. Hopefully this is not you, but escaping her wrath may not be easy. One can not hide from Eclipses; their job is to bring endings, so the Universe will find a way. The best you can hope to do is to avoid conflict with anyone behaving in a cranky manner. Remember the best motto for a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse is “Do Not Engage”!

See you here tomorrow!

Card of the Day – Queen of Swords – Sunday, June 2, 2019

Posted on Updated on

Well, well. There must be a New Moon nearby! The Queen of Swords has a habit of being in the vicinity of New Moons, and tomorrow’s New Moon in Gemini is no exception. Normally, she is in b*tch mode and everyone needs to get out of her way. That is not to say that the Gemini New Moon will not not stir someone’s pot, bringing out the cranky, critical, ill-mannered lot, who seem prevalent when the Moon is in darkness. Keep your eye out for them, and try not to be one of them.

However, I strongly feel that this Queen of Swords, being of Air energy, rather signifies her more positive attributes at this time. Today we have a Gemini Moon, Sun, and Mercury, so I suspect our Queen is mentally prepared for the day and ready to put life in order to officially get the month of June underway. Use her to organize, prioritize, declutter, and clear the way for the new things to come.

See you here tomorrow!

Card of the Day – Queen of Swords – Thursday, May 2, 2019

Posted on Updated on

Who else is not surprised to see the Queen of Swords today? After all, there is a New Moon only two days away, and she has a reputation for showing up in the vicinity practically every month. Typically, she serves as a reminder to curb one’s tongue at the time of a New Moon, or beware of someone who cannot. Vindictive, criticizing behavior is not one of her most admirable traits, but she can show her nasty side if the New Moon makes her a bit edgy. Admittedly, when I first saw her, the 1982 ‘Hall & Oates’ classic, ‘Maneater’, kept repeating in my head. She means business for sure as the New Moon approaches.

Today, though, I do feel that the Queen of Swords serves a higher purpose, while the Moon continues in Aries. Utilize her quick mind and organizational skills to really put things straight in your life. She is not about the changes you are trying to make, rather she is about putting your life in order so that your changes, as they occur, become meaningful and beneficial to your growth as an individual. Remain direct and to the point today, maintaining focus on the job-at-hand. Essentially, the Queen is an extension of yesterday’s Ace, giving you the power to put your life in order and on track.

See you here tomorrow!

Featured Card of the Day – Queen of Swords – 78 Tarot Mythical

Keywords

Intelligence, independence, composure

Astrological Association

Gemini, Libra, Aquarius

THE CARD’S STORY BY: ITALIA RUOTOLO

I was assigned the Queen of Swords, a wise woman, alone but perfectly self-sufficient. But symbolism of the sword never is only positive, the two blades can be used as for justice as to prevaricate on others, so the queen of swords has an ambiguous value. The same ambiguous value that Kali, Indian deity, possesses, beneficial and terrifying at the same time. Kali is the angry part of the goddess Shakti, the other part is Durga. She is her own master and has dominion on life and death.

THE CARD’S MESSAGE BY TRISH SULLIVAN

A fan of swords behind her, Kali stands ready to decimate. She merged with Durga at her most angry and nothing will stand in her way – she is wrath personified, but measured. Don’t let yourself be swayed by either heart, or head. Take the measure of both emotion and logic. Let your feelings make you aware, employ compassion and understanding in your dealings. But don’t let your thoughts be clouded. Use your razor sharp mind to analyze the situation carefully, cut to the heart of the issue, and then decide. Queen of Swords can be someone in your life who can quickly size up what is going on. Honest, but never cruel, they manage to deliver bad news with tact. But they won’t tolerate lies or manipulation!

MYTHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION: KALI/DURGA

There are many tales of Kali & Durga as roles of Shakti, and many of these centre on their association with the Hindu god Shiva. Kali is oft en seen in dark aspect, goddess of death & destruction, though originally, she was seen as an aspect of Agni, god of fire. Her link with Durga comes from a legend of Durga being attacked by two demons – Durga’s anger during this is so great that Kali merges with her & together they defeat the demons. Th e control over two aspects of her personality, one of passion and one of logic illustrates this card wonderfully.

Card of the Day – Queen of Swords – Wednesday, March 6, 2019

Posted on Updated on

img_7752

New Moon blessings, everyone!  Today is the New Moon occurring at 15° Pisces, a positive New Moon indeed, but there is so much more happening.  Mercury retrograded yesterday at 29° Pisces, surely putting the old fog machine on HIGH, so you will have to go back over a few things before your new beginning can begin.  Early today, a few hours before the New Moon, Uranus, planet of shock and surprise, left Aries to take up residence in Taurus until April 26, 2026.

So, who else picked up on our Queen of Swords showing up exactly on the New Moon?  She is beautiful, but perhaps a bit temperamental.  Don’t poke the bear; New Moons have a way of bringing out razor-sharp tongues, and once those words are out there, they are impossible to retrieve.  Normally, she possesses the mental acuity and determination to make things happen, but all of this Pisces energy (Moon, Sun, Mercury, and Neptune) may create a bit of self-deception, so do not commit to any important decisions at this time.  If you really wish to understand where this Queen and the Pisces New Moon are leading, be sure to listen to my New Moon in Pisces Tarot Guidance, available now at the $5 Patreon tier.

See you here tomorrow!

Featured Card of the Day – Queen of Swords – Crow Tarot by M.J. Cullinane

Posted on Updated on

Artist: M.J. Cullinane

Website: www.enchanteddecks.com

Card Meaning

The Queen of Swords is one tough bird. She is confident, independent, and wise. Her quick-wit, sharp intellect, and a clear vision of what the future should look like have garnered the respect of all those around her. Flying above her throne is a crow symbolizing her ability to see the big picture. When the Queen of Swords pays a visit, it may indicate a time when a stern, well-calculated, and sensible solution, is required. She may also appear as a mentor or teacher who can pull the best work from her students. The Queen of Swords denotes a time when an impartial and unbiased vision is required to make the best decision. Your situation will benefit from only the facts free from any cloud-causing emotion. Although it may come unsolicited, you may receive a cold-hearted opinion of your problem or concern, one where just the facts are considered.
