Queen of Swords

Card of the Day – Queen of Swords – Sunday, July 16, 2017

Posted on Updated on

Today’s beautiful Queen of Swords from artist, Stephanie Law, is here to make it perfectly clear what you need to do. Her sword is at the ready, and this Queen possesses the clarity of mind to rise to challenges, clear her path, and make good use of her intellect, while leaving emotion out of the equation.

The Moon is in Aries for the entirety of the day, until very late, when it will go void before entering the sign of Taurus. This is the perfect placement for this Queen of Swords, and whatever it is that requires organization in your life, whether something personal, or for the work-week ahead, the Universe has your back to help you make things happen. Go over that list, as the powerful New Moon at 0°  Leo is only a week away now, and today’s energy will definitely aid you in being prepared. It is possible to be uber organized, providing you are keeping your priorities straight, as this Queen likes to do. Then, come tomorrow, it will be ok to feel a wee bit lazy and enjoy the slower pace.

Artist Interpretation

Dressed in her pink gown and wings, this monster queen stands high on top of a mountain in the warm sun. Her sword is pointed up toward the sky with confidence and clarity.

Card Meaning

Don’t let your heart rule your head! The Queen is alone, not isolated, but fiercely independent, strong and steady, at the peak of her intellectual journey. You should, like this Queen, always look upward, keep aiming to better yourself. Be aware of emotion, compassionate in your dealings with others, but not dominated by it. Do not let your thoughts be clouded by confusion, instead, use your razor sharp mind to analyze a situation carefully, and then decide.

Card of the Day – Queen of Swords – Sunday, June 11, 2017

Posted on Updated on

And, here she is! The Queen of Swords is famous for showing up at the time of a New or Full Moon, and two days ago we had a Full Moon in Sagittarius, so she is running true to form. One of the things which we always discuss is her wicked tongue, and one’s need to curb their words at the time of a Full Moon, lest you speak them to the wrong individual. Remember, once spoken, they are out there forever, and really can not be taken back. So, do think before you speak, especially if, by chance you are having a bad day. Do not take it out on another individual who just happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

On a more positive note, the Queen of Swords can really aid you in getting your act together and feeling more organized. Full Moons are about endings and letting go of things, and this Queen has her sword at the ready, willing to cut away whatever no longer serves her. She brings with her mental clarity and the ability to leave emotion out of the equation in order to get the job done.

Card of the Day – Queen of Swords – Monday, May 8, 2017

Posted on Updated on

I am so not surprised to see the Queen of Swords here today, but let us try to make her work for us. Remember, Mercury is now moving forward in the speak-before-thinking sign of Aries, until it re-enters Taurus on the 15th. That is probably not the best place to be with the upcoming Full Moon in Scorpio, known for its extremes. The Queen may represent you, or someone else today, who does not temper their words, and speaks the truth no matter how many it may affect. She does not speak from emotion; her words come from another place, and do not ultimately endear her to others. We shall cut her some slack as sugarcoating things would be to the opposite end, and that does not really build great character. Just keep in mind that whatever you say, once it is out of your mouth, it can not be taken back, and apologies may simply not cut it.

On her more positive side, this Queen can aid you greatly with superior mental clarity, which hopefully you are beginning to see with each passing day of Mercury being direct. This is a great energy for a Monday, allowing you to remain focused and organized, maintaining a no-nonsense attitude which will aid you in completing any tasks before you. Keep your priorites straight and stick with the job until it is completed.

Featured Card of the Day – Queen of Swords – 78 Tarot Carnival ~ Cirque du Tarot

Posted on Updated on

Artist:  Everett Hartsoe

Website: houseofhartsoe.com

Keywords

Independent, free-thinking, composed, intelligent

Artist’s Statement

“The Queen of Swords is a card in the suit of Swords, part of the Minor Arcana set of Tarot. She symbolizes freedom and clarity of her mind and thoughts. I wanted her to sit firm and quiet upon the throne gazing over her domain. The colors of red and green portray blood, wealth and life.

The yellow radiates intelligence, comfort and kindness. The bird sits by her side to carry her message across the land. The jester skulls aligned on her throne reminds us that a fun spirit can remain in our lives for an eternity as long as we are willing to allow those spirits in. Queen of Swords is confident, protective and familiar with sorrow, yet doesn’t allow sorrow to overtake her position.”

Card Meaning

A solemn-faced Queen sits upon an unyielding metal throne, a dual-edged sword held upright in her hands, a skull painted atop her crown. Her only companion is a crow perched on her throne, but looking into the distance, ready to take flight at any moment. And yet she does not appear unwelcoming. Her posture is straight, but not rigid, her outfit is bold, fun and colorful, her eyes inviting. The sky behind her is clear, bright yellow – the color of sunshine, it suggests happiness, intellect and energy.

This card exemplifies a highly intelligent figure who cannot be easily fooled determining facts without being overly influenced by emotion. At the same time, she possesses a warmth that reminds us that she is a free thinker and cannot be pigeonholed.

Astrological Element & Assocation

Air / Gemini, Libra, Aquarius

Featured Card of the Day – Queen of Swords – 78 Tarot Nautical/Tarot of the Water

Posted on Updated on

img_0772

Artist: Becca Turner

Website: FantasyandFae.com

Keywords

Indpendent, composed, demanding, intelligent, free-thinking

Artist’s Interpretation & Card Meaning

“The Queen of Swords sits on a stone throne. The blue coloring of the card suggests a cold, stoic character – almost detached. She is not without emotion; rather she blends emotion with mentality and com passionate and understanding in her judgment of others. This is depicted by the sky meeting the sea. The clouds on the horizon of a clear sky symbolize the ability to keep her head above confusion. The bird flying high in the sky represents the high ideals of the Queen, her desire for freedom and the need for a break from obligations. Her jewel-adorned crown carries a double-edged sword pointing to the sky, symbolic of her razor-sharp mind. The swordfish leaping out of the sea relates to the Queen’s relationship with others. She is well-respected, authoritative and independent.”

A dark-haired mermaid sits on a stone throne; an upright sword adorns her crown. A swordfish jumps out of the water to greet her, her only companion. The sky is clear, apart from a couple of wispy clouds, above which a bird soars, symbolizing her purity of intent, and her focus on matters of the mind over matters of the heart. She is distant, but not cold. A butterfly floats close to the mermaid, she reaches her hand towards it, offering her wisdom to it, and the swordfish with her.

The Queen of Swords represents the need to experience emotions but not let them affect decisions or judgment. She roots out all the facts of a situation in order to best decide a course of action, and she is not easily fooled.
