“The Seven of Wands! The vastness of the sky is measured by its height, and the depth of an ocean lies within its depth, a dark abyss. Seven of Wands usually shows a man standing above the world, he is at the top, above all, he stands and holds his position, and he protects his horizon with the wands. He has reached the sky, crossed every hurdle and achieved everything. Same way ‘the man’ has reached the depth of the ocean; his quest is downward into the light-consuming sea depths, where he stands his ground with seven harpoons!”
Card Meaning
In the darkest part of the ocean, a deep-sea diver stands, lamp in hand. He has made great progress so far on his journey, but now faces a hard challenge that will test his courage and strength. The monsters of the deep approach him, massive leviathans with hooked tentacles and multitiudes of stingers, ready to drag him to his destruction. The high ground may not help him as it would on land, so he must use other tools in his arsenal – a monstrous lantern to dazzle them and seven harpoons.
After the public recognition of your deeds comes a tough challenge, as others try to tear you down. Now is the time to shine, to draw upon the tenacity and confidence within you, to hold your ground and defend your rightful place at the top.

Card of the Day – 7 of Wands – Monday, June 19, 2017
Feeling strong now; standing strong now. This 7 of Wands shows a different depiction than what we normally see. If you refer to the daily cards from the past week, you will note the changes coming about in various types of relationships around you. This is typically a defensive position, and you are certainly not backing down from your position, but at the same time, it would appear as though others have come on board. Remember, the other day we even discussed people of adversarial positions seeing eye-to-eye in a particular situation.
It would appear that your cause is gathering momentum, and that you have the support of others around you, rather than feeling as though you are taking a me-against-the-world stance. Perhaps now something can truly be accomplished for the greater good. Use your position, if you have one, to preach your cause, whether from a pulpit or a soapbox, and let your message be heard.

Card of the Day – 7 of Wands – Thursday, May 18, 2017
Who remembers engaging in a game of Tug-of-War? It goes back to ancient times, with no certain time or place being attributed to its origin. Even though there is no rope shown in the 7 of Wands, its very depiction still gives off the feeling of this ancient sport. At this point, you may be neither winning or losing, or you may have gained some ground which you do not wish to relinquish. This card is all about standing your ground and defending your territory.
Do not give an inch at this time; perhaps not everyone agrees with you and any decisions you may have made since the Full Moon in Scorpio. But, right now it is more like you are either with me, or you are against me. Should you be fortunate enough to find allies for your cause, rally them together, and remember there is strength in numbers. You do not need to go through this alone. Cue a little “I Won’t Back Down”, from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and make it your theme song.

Card of the Day – 7 of Wands – Friday, April 14, 2017
I am loving this deck! Today we have the 7 of Wands from 78 Tarot Astral ~ Tarot in Space, from artist, Monika Ptok-Byard. The Kickstarter is still open through the 4th of May, and the 78 Tarot family will welcome you as a backer with open arms. It would seem the Scorpio Moon which just passed, with all of its usual intensity, coupled with the Sun and Uranus being within 1° of each other, has you taking up a defensive stance. Let’s just call it a “take no prisoners” attitude.
I always feel as though the Scorpio Moon comes along just in time to give the needed push to stand one’s ground and not give an inch with your progress. This will prove to be a valuable energy for you, as you will see with the cards in the coming days. However, today the Moon will be in fun-loving Sagittarius, and the weekend is upon us. As Venus stations to go direct on the 15th and Pluto stations to retrograde on the 20th, you can’t help but notice the intense energies which are all around you. This is not a time to slack off; you have made tremendous progress, in spite of retrograde season, and you certainly do not owe anyone an explanation for your actions.

“What you’re looking at is a circus strongman wielding a giant mallet to protect the freaks in the freak show tent behind him, while a swarm of angry villagers storm the place with torches and pitchforks. He’s elevated up on a stage where this makes some dramatic lighting for the torches!”
Card Meaning
The strongman is at the edge of the stage, not taking a bow, but in a defensive position. He holds a mace high, ready to swing, as six flaming torches and pitchforks are thrust toward him. An angry mob is on the hunt, ready to destroy anything they do not understand, and take whatever they want. This time their targets are the carnies and freaks of the circus. Concern and fear flash in his eyes, he is uncertain of the outcome, but he will defend the circus and protect his friends regardless of the cost.
This card indicates a time of challenges and struggles, where you are forced to stand your ground. This is a wand card, the energy here is not aggressive, as a sword would be, but defensive and confident, fighting for what is right.

Card of the Day – 7 of Wands – Friday, February 17, 2017
I do not know every personal story out there, but today’s card, the 7 of Wands, will find you digging deep to hold your ground in a particular area of life. This is not meant in a bad way, rather in a defensive one. This current eclipse season is a powerful one and a tremendous amount of perseverance on your part may be required. In relation to the past, where challenges may have simply bowled you over, leaving you feeling as though you were flattened by a steamroller, you are now in a much better position to stand your ground in the face of any adversity.
Some may always to choose to read this as though it is you against the world, but this is not always the case. Eclipses are primarily about relationships, and you may find it in your best interest to allocate a few allies in your corner to help you further your cause. If you are on the proverbial soapbox sharing your views, people may actually be listening and your cause may begin to see some support. This can be a very productive day, so long as you know when not to back down.
