Walking Away for Good or “How to Make that Pesky Ex Leave You Alone, Once and for All”

I do not think any of us is exempt from knowing at least one person in our romantic life who just keeps turning up like a bad penny. That pesky ex who refuses to let it die. You tell yourself over and over it does not matter, he or she does not matter. When contacted, you repeatedly tell him/her, often using every expletive known to mankind, that you do not care, nor do you want to be bothered. Then, Mercury or Venus go retrograde, and there they are…again. What do you do?

The advice is so simple, and yet 99% of you will likely not heed it…DO NOT ENGAGE! There is a reason this person keeps returning. Perhaps he/she broke your heart in the past, and you keep thinking, well maybe this time it will work.  Likely not the case and you may even realize it, but are too weak to make it all end and go away. Some of you feel if you express all of your contempt and anger that this will do the trick, and yet they return.

In this day and age, we are all totally connected, so to rid yourself of someone and walk away, you need to be prepared to disconnect.  Sometimes, the extreme action of blocking people which is available to us these days can be counterproductive.  Merely unfriend this person.  Do not open Facebook messages, text messages and emails from him/her. Nothing says “I don’t care” more than saying and doing nothing. Period. End of story. DO NOT ENGAGE! Seriously, try it sometime. Your prolific use of the word f_ck will only serve to encourage most people.  If you totally ignore them, then they will have no choice but to go off and find someone else to make miserable.

I realize not all of you are in a position  to do this completely, as there may be children involved. But, you can still go lead your life without engaging in the nonsense and only participating in the conversation when it is to the benefit of your children.

As many of you know I have been reading Tarot cards for a very long time. I was prompted to write about this, as I hear so many versions of this far too often. The image above is of the 8 of Cups Tarot card. It is all about moving on and sometimes the only way to do this is to completely turn your back on something, no matter how good, or how bad it may seem.

I wish all of you luck if you encounter this situation in your life.  Remember, to walk away, what do you do? DO NOT ENGAGE!
