Artist Interpretation

A beautiful, ethereal woman stands gazing up at a tree. She is Demeter, the goddess of harvest and agriculture. She has a serene and contented look about her, as she can see that the tree she has been nurturing so long and well is bearing fruit and offers a bountiful harvest. Armed with a sickle, she readies herself to start collecting the fruits of her labour, safe in the knowledge that the future is assured.

This card symbolises hard work finally paying off. If you have been focusing your efforts towards a particular goal for some time and are feeling hopeful about the future, it is with good cause, as you will soon be reaping the rewards.

Card Meaning

A tree thrives, bearing pentacle fruit of differing sizes, with glowing mushrooms growing at its base. The goddess Demeter gazes at her bountiful harvest carefully considering her actions before she removes a single fruit. She must take only the ripest, the ones ready to be plucked.

When this card appears in a reading, it’s time to take stock. Assess and plan for the future, even as you move forward. There is more to success than hard work…along the way, there comes a time when you need to pause and evaluate. To make sure you’re on the right track. To ensure that even as you harvest your rewards, you have invested enough time and resources that your work will continue to bear fruit.

That time is now. So stop and consider your current actions. Ask yourself what’s working, and what isn’t, or what may not work as you keep going. Then adapt as necessary. You’ve made good progress, you don’t want to lose ground by going in the wrong direction now.
