My take on it is a visiting alien who is giving a plant and six gold coins to two humans, whether they need or want it. It is on our earth without greenery but with futuristic technological advancements. The skyline is Toronto of the future and they are standing on the dried up lake bed. The plant is known as Pachira Aquatica or the money tree, and is used in Feng Shui for wealth applications. The way the plant is positioned gives an illusion of a sunrise and mirage to further indicate hope and light in the dark. Pentacles also have an earth element association that I really wanted to express, especially the importance of nature and the possible dangers of letting ecological matters take a backseat to human advancements. Some may argue that advancements are more important. There are spaceships in the sky and the humans have obvious technology, these indicate that perhaps they don’t need the charity given them showing the complexity of the six of Pentacles.
A vast planet lies in darkness, a futuristic city in the background, but the fields are barren. Life, light and nature is given back to the inhabitants by a mysterious alien…but is it truly what they want?
When this card appears in a reading, it’s time to consider your actions very carefully. You understand both sides of the coin – what it means to have, and what it means to need. You need to decide what you are going to do with that experience. You know how fast fortunes change, and must decide how best to help, both yourself and others. It is wonderful to be in a position to share, but the question now is…should you? And will you do it in the right way? You cannot just give – it helps no one. Make sure that whatever charity you offer is the kind to help someone else become self-sufficient.
