Stress, struggle, burden
In my representation of the Ten of Wands, the woman in the image is carrying a heavy load of energy-infused wands on her back as she is surrounded by a dark and desolate night sky. A few small planets are the only guide she has as she navigates through the darkness, aiming to move forward, even with her heavy pack. She knows that she may be taking on a task that is more than she can handle alone, and her expression shows that she is tired and tempted to give up.
A woman walks alone in the darkness, carrying a heavy cargo. Her face is downcast, the strain showing all too well. She has to go on, she cannot go back, and yet the journey is defeating her. Her burden is too great for her to bear.
When this card appears in a reading, it is a gentle suggestion that you’re taking on too much and need to learn to say no more often. A reminder that the people who matter will still like you if you do say no to them. Yes, you love what you’re doing, but your success has brought a responsibility you need to grow into still. You need to keep balance in your life, and make some time for yourself, or you are going to burn out, and then you won’t be able to help anyone.
Reevaluate the situation, prioritize the tasks that need to be done, and see how you can lighten your load. Maybe you need some help, or maybe you can delegate some of the tasks to others, instead. Maybe you can find some ways to streamline the day to day jobs so that you can focus on more important aspects of your work. However you choose to move forward, be gentle with yourself – it is not a failing to need help, we all need support from time to time!
