Be it ever so humble, there’s no place like home. This is my all-time favorite Tarot image ever; artist Molly Harrison truly captures the essence of the 10 of Cups, and the pure simple happiness and magic of family which it embodies, in this rendition for 78 Tarot Carnival. Emotional fulfillment is the best of all. This is a timely card, especially for those here in the USA, as today really kicks off the 2018 holiday season. Many of you may be traveling today, so as to reconnect with family, and loved ones, and as the card shows, home is that place where you can all come together in love.
This card has always filled my heart with joy, but today, I do feel differently about it. The tent shown in the background is here to remind us all of the reality that while you may be able to spend this holiday with those special to you, not everyone is able to do so. There are far too many people living in tents, whether they are destitute and homeless, or have been displaced from their own home through catastrophic circumstances, such as fire, flood, and hurricane. And then there are the children, ripped from their mothers’ arms, likely to never see them again, forced to live in tents and communal quarters in a foreign land, without a loving family to embrace them. So, wherever you may be, be thankful for what you have, enjoy the people with whom you have been blessed. Do not forget to tell them you love them. Never, ever, take the happiness and emotional fulfillment you enjoy with loved ones for granted.
