The King of Cups is representative of the element of water. Nautical imagery was chosen to reflect this – there are elements of the crab for Cancer and the fish for Pisces. The King of cups is intelligent and wise, so an expanded translucent cranium was created to show this. He is also calm, collected, compassionate and confident. He holds an organic living cup, effortlessly as if it is part of him, and he has a deep understanding, an almost symbiotic relationship with his cup. I depicted a universe is being created from his cup, to show his powerful ability to create with compassion, art and science.
The space squids and dolphins were chosen to represent energy and flow. The dolphins symbolize creativity and the balance between the conscious and subconscious mind. The etheric space squids crown his head and complete the cycle of energy, aiding the king in his creation.
