Artist Interpretation
Seven of Wands, fighting for your right to be on top, to defend your position–whatever it may be. Usually depicted as a man, I thought this year was fitting to depict a woman. Standing above the other planet wands I have a moon goddess with a universe being created in her hands–not fully developed because it will be up to you…it can fully develop or fall apart depending on your efforts. Fighting for her right to be on top, she shows courage while defending herself. Her dress fades into the stars and galaxies behind her, representing the struggle to remain on top. You will have to have determination and fight to stay relevant, as well as courage and belief in yourself.
The Card’s Message by Trish Sullivan
When this card appears in a reading, there’s no need to tell you that you’re on the defensive…you’re already well aware, and feeling the pressure from all sides. But the card’s message is to hang in there. You will get through this, come what may.
Ask yourself, is this issue worth fighting for? Does it matter so much to you that you are willing to take a stand, with no thought of what the personal cost may be? If so, then stand firm, be prepared, draw upon the reserves of tenacity and confidence within you, and fight like hell for what’s right.
But if it’s not an issue worth fighting for, if the fight will cause more problems in the long term than it will solve? Then it is time to just accept the possibility that it is just one of those days. That this is one more challenge on your journey to your dreams, and that you can get past this and move on to more important things, remembering that this will pass in time.
