Artist Interpretation

A king sits on the big throne decorated with a bull’s head and two crossed swords. He holds a sword in his right hand and a globe in his left hand. Two similar statues of Ishtar stand on the pedestals on the both sides of the throne. A shield on which a chariot is depicted sits on the floor at the throne. All elements of the picture have metaphorical meanings: Ishtar in the context of this card personalizes war and political power, and the Chariot has the meaning of directed and controlled mental power. The glob in the king’s hand also a symbol of power.
