Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn
THE CARD’S STORY BY: JESSICA PERNER
When I got the Seven of Pentacles I looked it up and immediately was captivated by the imagery and description. It was a man looking tired but satisfied with his work, abundance around him. For me it is a hopeful card, especially if you are patient and keep working towards a goal that will pay off. Being an Earth sign and Taurus this card inspired me, mother earth, Gaia or Terra as she is often known is my myth. I thought about working the land, sowing crops. The Earth is full of beauty, riches, and life, which I tried to show in my card. Mother Earth in her splendor, bearing a bejeweled crown, a tower like structure made to hold her fruit – plowed fields in the background as if the world was waiting for you to grab it.
THE CARD’S MESSAGE BY TRISH SULLIVAN
Bedecked in jewels, a woman surveys her riches, pausing to glance behind her, at all she has achieved. She takes the opportunity of a little quiet to consider how she is to proceed before she reaches the sea ahead. You’ve put a lot of effort in so far – now it’s time to take a pause, and evaluate – work out what’s working for you, and what needs to be changed. It’s essential to make sure that you’re still on the right path to achieve your ultimate goals, rather than wasting time – you need to work smart as well as working hard!
MYTHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION: GAEA / GAIA MOTHER EARTH / TERRA
Gaia as she is known in Ancient Greek, is the personifi cation of the Earth, ancestral mother of all life. Th e archetypal Mother Earth goddess, legends are told of her in many other mythologies as well. She is the primordial creator, continually working to heal and provide, working within nature to withstand the impact that the years (and we humans) have had upon the world. She is the successful provider, and her constant need to re-evaluate suggested that she is the perfect personifi cation of this card
