THE CARD’S STORY BY: SO MA
The Kitsune represents optimism, determination & the strength to overcome adversity. The Kitsune’s personal power is the ability to tap into the experience, skills & fearlessness that we already possess to succeed. They caution us to stay sharp, take note of what’s around us that may be of use as we brace ourselves for the next battle. It is after all a fox, who uses her cunning & wiles to overcome the most difficult of tasks. So look around, gather your resources, tools, equipment & connections. For the most cunning, win not by brute strength alone, but by thinking outside of the box. Think like a fox.
THE CARD’S MESSAGE BY TRISH SULLIVAN
Her journey is nearly done, but not quite. The Kitsune pauses for a while, leaning on a staff to muster up her strength again. She knows she’s close, but it’s been hard and she needs a moment. It’s been tough recently, you’ve fought and worked hard, and you know you can do it, but you’re weary. For now, it’s time to rest and regroup. Seize an opportunity to recharge and refocus your energies and drive so that you come out triumphant. Consider what else in your arsenal you can use to see you through the next few hurdles. It is crunch time – you’re so close….so use whatever you can to get you there!
MYTHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION: KITSUNE
In Japanese mythology and culture, Kitsune means “fox” – the Kitsune are shapeshifters who take the form of a fox, and the legends that tell of them tell two very different tales. They are good creatures, protective, messengers, who bring luck and ward off evil spirits. Or they are tricksters, evil even, who turn into human form to seduce humans, even feeding off them. The cunning, willing to do whatever it takes side of the Kitsune made this an ideal concept for this card.
