Card of the Day – The Fool – Sunday, January 30, 2022

Today there is a tense aspect happening, Sun square Uranus, sandwiched between yesterday’s direct station of Venus, and tomorrow’s Aquarius New Moon. The following explanation for this square appears on the Planetary Events Calendar, located on my website: “When life needs change, Uranus steps in and shakes things up, whether you like it or not. Events can be unpredictable, and everyone’s behavior can be erratic. There is no form of predictive science available here, as routines may not work, and circumstances can suddenly change, coming out of left field, and maybe blindsiding you. The best way to handle energy like this is to not be resistant to it. Be as flexible as possible, and know any changes which come as a result of unforeseen events, will be in your best interest. The change will probably not occur at this time, but a situation which brings it about is surely something you will not want to ignore.”

The Fool represents a number of things, such as new beginnings, fresh starts, spontaneity, recklessness, naivety, and many more, including being a newbie at something. In the context of the cosmic influences today, it would be in your best interest to not overreact to any unanticipated events. When this card appears during a Mercury retrograde, I tend to advise against unplanned trips, whether near or far, as the potential for something to go wrong is heightened at this time. Do your best today to be in the flow of things. Prepare your intentions for tomorrow’s New Moon, not with specificity, but with your highest and best interest in mind.
