This is a very fitting card as another chapter comes to an end, with only three days remaining in 2023. One does not need to look very far for the review of the past twelve months, and this often includes the memories of those lost throughout the year. Since December 20th, and up until January 20th, Pluto, the planet of death, rebirth, and transformation, is sitting at the final degree of Capricorn. Our Death card today cannot begin to emphasize enough all of the transformation which is in the works.

Saying goodbye to 2023 will be easy for most, and the Death card is not one to be feared. Closing doors on painful times gives way to the opening of new ones with the promise of a better tomorrow. Always embrace the change, and now as we look forward to 2024, which will be a much better year, it is time to allow some things to die away.
