I wanted my card to look like a vintage sci-fi novel cover. Symbolically I had a hard time relating to this card. I don’t like being tied down in life, by things especially. I am a big risk taker, always looking as I leap so I think it’s safe to say I am used to a life that is not full of stability. The way I interpret it is that the figure has her earthly responsibilities, and that is actually a positive thing, to have things to care about. She is floating above, transcending the physical at the same time. I think this card is about balancing the physical and spiritual. Not getting tied down physically or spiritually/mentally with a lot of unnecessary things/ideas/emotions. Being a fly by the seat of my pants kind of person it can be hard for me to see that stability and responsibility are not always bad, not shackles tying you down unless you let them. You can rise above and accept the good in that and let the rest go.
An alien princess has travelled away from the vast city where she rules. She hovers above a pentacle, clasping more to her chest, but she has paused, surrounded by her wealth, holding onto it, but doing nothing with it. Not growing, or developing, not using it, or enjoying it. But just hoarding it.
When this card appears in a reading, it’s time for balance. Keeping an eye on your finances is always a good plan, money does not, after all, grow on trees. But when that financial caution makes you feel guilty for spending any money, or enjoying the rewards you work so hard for, it’s gone too far. Life is to be lived. Trying to exercise too much control can give you tunnel vision. It can make you erect walls around yourself, isolating you from the world. Make sure you control your money, rather than letting it control you.
