Card of the Day – 9 of Swords (Air) – Tuesday, September 28, 2021

Interestingly enough, the last time we saw this card, Mercury was retrograde. If you have been keeping track, then you will know that all three Mercury retrogrades this year have occurred in the three Air signs. You are likely aware of all of the electronic snafus for which Mercury gets credit, and even miscommunication, but did you know that Mercury messes with your thought processes as well? It does, and if you find yourself having sleepless nights over the next three-and-one-half weeks, Mercury is definitely your culprit. The mind is an incredible thing, and it is capable of conjuring up all kinds of scenarios, none of which are bound to happen, but, they have a way of keeping you awake. Halloween season probably does not help matters for some of you, if you are watching ghoulish, scary movies before bedtime. Indeed, the list of reasons can be long and varied, but the lack of a good night’s sleep never did anyone any good. Try to remember that thoughts are things, and you need to put the most ridiculous of them out of your mind.

The 9 of Swords is a card of fears, unfounded ones, the type where you have simply let your mind run away with you, thus allowing yourself to lose sleep because of them. Nightmares are the stuff of which the 9 of Swords is made. It is important to remember that when Mercury is retrograde, especially in Libra, clear thoughts and your decision-making process, are not going to be in tip-top form. If you can put off until November any important decisions, then perhaps you can not worry so much over them at the moment.
