Card of the Day – 5 of Cups – Wednesday, October 4, 2023

It has not even been a week since the last appearance of this card. The recent retrograde of Mercury in its home sign of Virgo, the perfectionist, has left many feeling as though some things might be irreparable, and never again perfect. I am reminded of the Japanese art of Kintsugi, defined on Google: “Kintsugi is the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold — built on the idea that in embracing flaws and imperfections, you can create an even stronger, more beautiful piece of art.” Finally today, the energy will shift, with Mercury moving on to the Venusian, art-loving sign of Libra, a sign which seeks balance, and you can do so by embracing and accepting any imperfections which were highlighted during the retrograde, and begin to shift your focus to other things which require your attention.

The 5 of Cups is a card of loss and focus, meant to remind you even if something, or someone did not work out, you still have so much for which to be thankful, and upon which you can build.
