New Moon blessings to all! Today marks our annual New Moon in Aquarius; take note that Mercury will also be leaving shadow today, thus completing its retrograde cycle which began back on December 1. So, it is probably more appropriate to wish you a Happy New Year! Indeed, it is about time, but you will not likely notice it so much until tomorrow, when Mars has returned home to Aries. So, let’s talk about today’s 4 of Pentacles, shall we. I notice a theme here; it became very apparent yesterday and it will continue to be prevalent in the coming days. The King of Swords card yesterday was representative of a higher authority in your life, taking, or trying to take, away something that is yours. Now mind you, while we often speak of letting go of things, someone making a power play against you is a totally different scenario, and you have every right to hold on dearly to what is yours.
The undertones of this card today bring forth the word ‘protection’. It can deal with finances, but ultimately you may need to hold onto something else which is valuable to you. Recently, we spoke of manifestations, and this depiction lends itself to the thinking that someone has undermined what you thought was rightfully yours. Notice the tide coming toward the shore in the background, as the young lady on the card places her pentacles on top of buckets of sand for protection. This feeling of preservation is going to continue, and it is up to you to take the necessary measures to ensure that what you have worked so hard to achieve is not gone in one fell swoop of the wave.
